I have thought about using a snowmobile engine for an inboard. I dont see why a briggs wouldn't If you use a side shaft engine from a tiller or snowblower and then use a centrifugal clutch from a chainsaw or minibike to link the crank to the propshaft that would allow a neutral, ant then engage on acceleration.
