Don - you should get in touch with the "Antique Boat Museum" group, up in Clayton, New York - on the St. Lawrence River. There are hundreds of "Islander" mahoganey runabouts in that area. Many are powered by small V-8's (Chris Craft, Garwood, Larson ...) They have a website. We spend some time there in the summers - I've talked with several owners. They maintain them, and end up putting like 1/4" of gloss varnish on the finished restoration!

If you get up that way in the summer - they have a great festival at the museum in August. They probably have over 500 classic wooden boats from the 1900's on up!

: Looking for a restorable mahogany (not Plywood) boat to restore for my own use. I've restored some pretty rough boats, so if you have something, even if it's real rough, I'm probable still interested.
