The whole "epoxy" thing is so chemically based - I wouldn't take a chance at mixing
brands or different hardner types. Boy - if it didn't work as planned - you'd be sort of up the creek... and all that.

We usually only build 1 or 2 boats in our lifetimes, why flirt with trouble if you don't have to. I never even heard of the Epoxy brand either - surprised West Marine is the place that has that? They normally carry only West Systems?

: My local West Marine store has 2 gallons of SeaFit epoxy resin that I can get for $23/gallon(!) But they no longer have any hardener of the same brand. It's supposed to be mixed at 4:1 ratio. My question is: Can I use Glen-L or West System hardener? Would I use their 5:1 ratio?

: Or should I forget it...?
