I'm building a Squirt and am far enough along to think about the motor. I know something about sail, but nothing about outboards. It seems to me the boat will be the most fun as a miniature "gentleman's cruiser" with electric start via an ingition switch, key and all, remote steering, remote controls, fuel guage, speedo, maybe battery guage and tach. Do I assume correctly I need, say, a 15HP electric start engine, Teleflex steering and controls? Will an engine come ready for remote cable hookup or will I probably need to remove the tiller arm, add some connecting kit stuff, etc.? Or am I smoking the wrong weed?
