There are good explanations of the various types of construction. There is also a link in the Stitch and Glue article to a pictorial guide to the process that is very informative.
: As for your question about the limit of boat size when using S&G, I am building a 16' Console Skiff and I am 100% confident in the strength of the hull so far. How big a boat the S&G method is apropriate for is a question for the experts (that's not me).
