While I am in New Zealand it is perhaps close enough to offer some advice. I started my Riviera about 6 months ago and have had no problems up to the planking stage.
The frames and keel,chines & inside planking are all Macrocarpa which is really cheap in this country. The outside veneer is to be Mahogany.
