Sorry so long for my reply. I haven't considered building the same boat again. To answer your question if I lost the boat, yes we would. I can't think of anything I would change other than possibly incresing the length by 10%. The self draining deck works as long as you can tilt the boat far enough for the water to drain out. Otherwise, you will need to leave a access hole under the cabin floor. Our boat is for pleasure only. We accumulated 2836 hrs. over a 9 year peroid on the first engine which was a OMC Cobra. It performed well but the OMC does not compared to the Mercruiser 4.3 LXH that is in there now. She turns 4600 RPM at 42 MPH. That is excessive for a lobster boat and I usually cruise about 30 MPH. I am a believer I not underpowering a boat as power will help overcome a rough situation. I have plowed the bow into a 12 ft. breaker and was able to push through it, however, it was something I would not care to repeat.
