I was wondering if anyone out there would have the formula for figuring the floatation of my proposed steel work barge... I plan to build the pontoon barge out of 10 ga steel that has a weight per ft of 5.625 the size of the pontoons will be 1' x 6' x 32' I would weld each pontoon into 4 compartments for saftey and when completed I would weld 2x2 x 1/4 angle across the pontoons at 2' intervals and then deck over the angle with wood planks... how much floatation would I have above the waterline??
