Cecil - Of course "marine plywood" is always considerably
better quality all the way around. Its glued with marine waterproof glus,
all inside and outer sheet plys have had their "knots" removed and
are filled with a cat-eye shaped filler. I believe if you buy
A-B type marine plywood, the A side is supposed to have no fillers at all.
(some I bought did though). Used to be most large lumber yards could
at least order special, marine plywood. There's a very
large supplier of Marine Plywood, apparently all sizes, in
Baltimore, MD - probably a bit far for you!

ps - I built a ROUSTABOUT 18' I/O runabout back
in 75, and outer plywood (marine 3/8" bottom
and marine 1/4" sides) has stood the test
of time, and never given the slightest problem.
If you plan on keeping the boat more than a
couple years, the extra price of marine plywood -
would probably pay off well!
