Is the carolina skiff tough?

A carolina skiff near my house was being used as a dumptruck to haul local roundstone. They were dumping stones to form a bulkhead around a scarred point. Okay, so they had framed this wood platform inside the boat, it looked like a table mounted in the front third of the boat. The table top was hinged such that two or three guys could lever the table and dump whatever was on the table top over the bow. If you can envision this, the guy would drive the skiff's bow onto the shore in one spot around the point. A front end loader would then dump a load of grapefruit size stones onto the table top, and with all the thrust the 75HP could muster, he would back the boat off shore, and with about two inches of freeboard on the bow, he would barge the load of stones around the point. I had never seen this done before, It was a testament to strength and durability of the carolina skiff.
