: I'm building the 16' Audeen and I'm not sure what engine would work best. I would like to use the 350 Chevy, but I'm don't want to over power and have to much weight.
: I would sure would like to hear from some on this subject.

The 350 Chevrolet motor will work fine.
The buoyancy of wooden hull boats is unbelievable and the way these inboards are set up for V-8s is perfect.
You could probably even go with a big block if you wanted to. The wooden hull can handle just about any weight, including passengers.
A 350 four bolt main would be a perfect set up and when you finally do get it in the water and go for a spin. LOOK OUT and be sure to HOLD ON!
