Any Tiny Titan builders?

My son and I built a Tiny Titan last summer, complete
with throttle and stearing. Power is a new, stock 15hp.

The boat is a blast to drive, but I an dissapointed
that it only runs(so far) 30+ mph with a 160 lb pilot.
The motor is setup so that the cavitation plate is
one inch above the surface at top end. I turn the
largest standard aluminum prop available (have not been
clocked with the standard smaller prop).

Is that all I can expect?

A good open 12footer can run 30. I had hoped for 40+
from a three point hydro.

Also, has anyone built the Tiny Titan with a skirt
between the back of the sponson along the chine
to the back edge of the transom? I am considering
adding a skirt to increase air lift and cushioning
to possible soften the very hard ride you get in
anything over a 4 inch chop.
