O.K., first, if the plans say to "cold bend" the wood, and you have the correct dimensional lumber, either the type of wood or it's grade, or it's seasoning (too dry) is not appropriate for that application. Try a different type of wood, make sure that the radius is correct, or my best suggestion is to laminate it in two thinner pieces. Good Luck!
