: Recently built Squirt. Slides very badly in even moderate speed turns. Also porpoises badly. Can fix the porpoising easily. But would prefer not to use the fin recommended for sliding for several reasons. Any suggestions on fixing this?

I'm not sure that there is a problem in your boat. THis last summer I put a planner board on my 25 OMC for fun. It really made my fishing boat scoot, but it also caused porpoising and sliding. After I rearranged the weight in the boat and set the engine to different angle I found I could control the porpoising problem, but because it is so light it still slides. I might try different weight distribution and drive angles before I go back to the workshop. Good Luck.
