Thanks for the info. I kind of figured that the ultimate use would have a bearing on the actual materials. I too will be trailering for the most part, and certainly will be covering with glass and epoxy. I intend to use whatever I end up building as a dive boat for just me and a couple of friends, mostly on good sized lakes in the northeast, with a few trips now and then to salt water (nothing too far offshore.) Sounds like fir and fir plywood will work.
