The Trail-A-Camp lets you take your campsite with
you wherever you go. With an all steel welded frame and unique "steel
stud" sidewall support design, this rugged camp trailer is built to last
and can take it in stride even over the roughest of back roads. An optional
"boat carrier" design feature of the plans will prove a delight to
anglers. And by building your own Trail-A-Camp, you'll save a bundle over
comparable factory built units.
The Trail-A-Camp will sleep up to six people and
features a kitchen area that will accept a built-in range, ice box or
refrigerator, and sink. There's a convenient step-up to the forward berth
plus the entrance door allows easy curbside access to the ice box. Our
designers used every nook and cranny for storage space and even provided a
locker for a folding portable toilet. The unique "leveling stands"
detailed on the plans keep the Trail-a-Camp on an even keel for your
comfort.
Unlike spartan "tent top" trailers, the
Trail-A-Camp features a "hard top" for weather protection and
security while underway. When raised, you can use simple roll-up screens and
tarps to suit your desires. Towing is a breeze as rear visibility is unimpaired and wind resistance is minimal. The compact size and light tongue weight make handling and towing easy and economical behind just about any vehicle.
The plans for the Trail-A-Camp cover every detail
of the construction, while the instructions cover all procedures and processes in a step-by-step manner. Also included is a special section devoted to material utilization and a complete Bill of Materials so you can keep costs low and eliminate mistakes. No patterns are provided with this design as they are not required due to the fact that all lines are straight and materials are used in "square panel" format only.
