40.(2/10/02) This picture shows the second fill coat and the multi-layer of glass cloth on the stem is showing through as a lighter color.
41.(2/10/02) This shows the second fill coat from the stem area.
42.(2/10/02) This picture shows the second fill coat at the center seam.
43.(2/25/02) This picture is of the stem after the 4th and last fill coat. Didn't need the fourth coat really, but I was mistakenly trying to get that perfectly smooth coat that didn't need to be sanded fair. NOT!! My buddy filled Me in that the third coat was sufficient and after sanding fair just needed a smoother sanding with 150 to 220 grit paper and then left to Varnish when completed. But, hey, a little extra resin can't hurt too much can it????
44.(2/25/02) Here is the fourth fill coat from a better angle. Actually did come out pretty smooth, but still needed some sanding.
