Fig 26: The bottom panel is clamped along the centerline and roughly marked to shape.


Fig 27: The panel, after being roughly scribed, is cut to shape with a fine-tooth hand or power saw.


Fig 28: Fitting the forward edge that will butt to the side panel is the only area that must be done carefully. The builder is using washer-blocks under the heads of the screws to distribute the stress while progressively fitting the panel.


Fig 29: The bottom is glued and fastened into position. Note that the screws along the battens are well staggered.


Fig 30: The overhang along the stem is sawn off prior to installing the second side panel.
