Fig. 16 - From Frame #4 forward, a line should be drawn from the faired edge to the centerline of the chine where it meets the stem. The side planking will attach to the area below this line. Because the angle is so close to a straight line at the bow the planking will butt edge to edge along the forward section of the chine.

Fig. 17 - Here Don is fitting the bottom planking to the chine. The chine will be beveled to the line that was drawn previously. The stem will also require fairing so that the plywood lays flat on all surfaces.

Fig. 18 - On the sides of the hull a straight edge is used to determine the amount of bevel that will be required on the chine and sheer. There will be a particularly large amount taken off the forward section of the sheer clamp.
