Glen-L 13 Construction Pictorial
Fig 32: Note the markings on the exterior of the bottom panel to delineate the battens. The screws are well staggered rather than being in a straight line.
Fig 33: The completed hull with all laps trimmed preparatory to puttying the screw holes. Note: If you intend to fiberglass the hull, it is usually done before righting. Cloth should be lapped into the centerboard trunk as far as practical, to protect the exposed plywood edge. We would normally also paint the bottom prior to turning, to avoid having to turn the boat upside-down after the decking is completed.
Fig 34: After the hull has been righted, it is again leveled both athwartship and lengthwise and blocked securely in position. At this stage of construction, the hull could possibly flex so alignment should be checked before installing decking.
