Fig 4: The notches in the frames must be angled to allow the chine log members to rest flat in the notches and not rest on a corner.

Fig 5: The builder is twisting the chine into position against the stem using a C-clamp clamped to the chine for leverage.

Fig 6: The notches for the sheer clamp must be angled similarly to those for the chine log. The sheer clamp is set in vertically from midship forward.
