This "latex house paint" idea has come up before. If a boat is going to be "kept in a slip" constantly floating in the water - I wouldn't use house paint for my boat. Especially latex - which was designed to be porus, to allow a home's moisture to leach out thru the paint! How that would work on a boat, is questionable. It's cheaper per gallon, that's for sure. Why not "epoxy" based paint? The stuff lasted 22 years on my Glen L "Roustabout"!!!

: I used latex house paint on my entire Console Skiff--inside and out, above and below the waterline. After one year in the water, it has held up very well; no problems whatsoever. It is my understanding that latex paint will adhere to expoxy even better than it will to wood (that from a chemical engineer)!
