Bob: I installed the genuine (Hondouran)mahogany spray rail and rub rail on my Hunky Dory by steaming them. I used a 6"x8' piece of pvc (the end stuck out)plugged at both ends with a rag. The steam source was a lidded stew pot over a camp stove connected to the pvc w/ 3/4 steel pipe. It would build up a pretty good head and I steamed them for an hour. They didn't bend as easily as green wood but better than dry mahogany. They were screwed on every 6 in (pilot holes drilled first)as soon as possible. After they dried, I removed them, applied a generous smear of 3M 101 and put them back on. After 2 months they seem solid. Caution: The pilot holes included a countersink. After steaming, the wood was so soft the penetrating screw would pull deep and nearly through the trim strip.
