: I have done this before. I had Dow epoxy and system3 hardener. It worked just fine. The way I was told to mix is based on the hardeners recomended mixing porportions. If the hardener has a 2:1 mix recomendation than go with that. The ratio is based on the hardener (generally). One thing to keep in mind that even if the epoxy is advertised as "non Blushin" (no amine blush) if you use a different hardener you may experience amine blush. Buy the smallest bottle you are able to find and experiment a little with some scrap wood untill you are confident of the results. Good luck.
