: I am building the Glen-L Reliant and am ready to have the ballast keel cast. Does any body know a foundry in Texas or neighboring state that could handle a job like this? It is roughly 11' long x 38 " tall and should weigh when complete 12,400#. The pattern is cut and ready to be shipped to a foundry if I can find an affordable shop to do it. If not, I may have to pour it with lead myself, but I would rather use cast iron.
: Thanks,

I am a lead keel maker in search of a state that will let me cast keels. I am in california and I have two 84,000 lead keels to make and when I asked my local EPA officials to let me get the permits to cast these keel they said no. I have a portable 10,000 lbs pot and am able to make a keel anyware in the world. I could come back to your company and make the keel for you out of lead. I am an expert keel maker and have made many of the lead keels for the America cup boats. I am and expert on finding cheap lead if you don't have all the lead you need. If you want to give me a collect call at 310 5474604 on 6/2/99 in the morning and I will be able to give you a quote.Don Huseman
