The engineer in me (Drexel '75) says test as the expected loads will be applied. Your wedge test is probably not fair, since no loading conditions would act that way. A frame's job is to react bending loads, so make a mockup of part of a frame and bend it!
Did you allow the epoxy plenty of time to cure before testing? Epoxy develops greater strength as it cures, to some point (don't know how long - Mark?)
