Looking for any input for frame material for a Malahini. I live in the Norhteast where white oak is abundant at considerable savings over imported mahogany.

The statement from Glen L on lumber selection has me concerned, "Because of the gallic acid in white oak, it reacts with plastic resin glue when submerged in salt water, and therefore this glue should not be used with white oak under these conditions."

Does this refer to epoxy? I will be operating in salt water.

Thanks
