So what your saying is that with a single engine in-board the engine rotation does not matter (left vs. right hand)? In forward gear does the prop turn in the same direction as the engine or opposite or does that matter?

: when a propeller rotates in one direction, the boat tends to torque in the opposite direction. Hence on a traditional boat with the helm on the starboard side you want a right hand engine (clockwise propeller rotation viewed from the stern). We just built an inboard runabout and used a left hand engine with a starboard helm and it works beautifully. so use any engine you want. BTW, I have a chevy 327 block-based crusader that is right hand. It needs a rebuild but ran before I pirated it for peripheral parts. Come and get it Cheap in CT if you want it.Regards, Mitchell
