I had read the oarlocks report, but had not seen the sources page. I'm getting a little closer to making a decision between a Davis folding lock and a North River.
The nylon set still seems to have some appeal to me, but I'd like to hear from anyone who has actual experience with them.

And THANKS Ron for your input. It's a good thing I still have a few weeks worth of work left to complete my boat.

: : : I am so confused about buying oar-locks. There are so many different kinds and the prices I'm seeing seem to vary widely. I often wonder if the price is each or by the pair. I'm pretty sure I want side mount. What I don't know is if all side mount sockets have the L shape I'm looking for. I've even seen some nylon sets (that seem to come in a complete package).

: : : Any opinion would be greatly appreciated. Please be specific. Price and weight seem like thay are important to me. I wouldn't mind if they were quiet as well as this will be for a duck hunting boat. I seem to find bronze appealing - although I don't know why.
