Although I did not articulate it well, my primary concern about the sunlight was more focused on the impact to encapsulated components. My understanding is that UV rays will cause microscopic fissures in the epoxy coating, rendering it less effective as a moisture barrier. How much exposure is required for this to happen, I don't know. I would think a few minutes a day over a period of a year or more could do it. The safe bet would be to minimize exposure.
