Scott, you're having way too much fun! That Vixen is gonna be great. I wish I had as much time for that hobby - my career and house keep getting in the way!

I have a couple of fiberglass boats (3 actually) in various stages of needing restoration. My pride & joy is a 1975 15' Checkmate in fabulous condition. I'm trying to find time to just clearcoat it to bring up the metal flake shine, and re-upholster the seats.

Another project is a '79 MFG bow-rider which I shouldn't have bought. I started on the stringers but the Checkmate pre-empted it.

Finally, the coup-de-grace, a 1962 Glasspar G-3 (see http://www.classicglasspars.com/g3/62g3.htm for an example). This one is in worse shape than your Vixen, needs all structural work and the gelcoat is very badly crazed. Someday, maybe...

The Checkmate will someday need all the structural wood replaced, and I have that very much in mind. For now it runs great with its original 115 Evinrude. I'm going to try to keep it original, maybe there'll be a show somewhere.
