I can't talk to the TNT. But I just finished a Squirt. (See Customer Photos) I put a short-shaft 15hp Johnson with a performance prop on it. The Squirt is both fun and quick. (Especially that close to the water.)

A relative is a Marine Sheriff and he clocked the Squirt at 26 mph with one adult aboard. It's extremely stable, gets up on plane "instantly" and after three hours in the water (most at full speed) it was totally dry inside.

As for building the Squirt, with a decent assortment of woodworking tools, I spent 139.5 hours of actual construction time (I too used the frame kit). This excludes just standing around with a beer in hand looking at my handiwork or wondering what I was going to do next.

As I said, I'm only familiar with the Squirt. But based on the plans, I'd say you couldn't go wrong with either design.

Good luck.

: 1. I realize this is all opinion but deciding between the Squirt and TNT... which one should I build? TNT seems to be able to handle more power (more speed) I have a 12 year old boy and myself. (My 16 daughter wants me to build her an ultralight... aircraft that is)
: 2. Could I complete the project at 8 hours per week prior to July of next year?
: 3. What is the most HP I can hang on that thing?
: TNT looks more stable to me than the Squirt, maybe not.
: I would probably order the frame kit to speed building process up a bit.
: Thanks..
