Well, I don't actually have the engine yet. I am looking at the Mercury 15E which I want to set up with remote controls and starter. The thing is, I don't particularly want to use the Mercury controls. They are too big for a Squirt (my opinion). I figured on using a small teleflex control (throttle and shift cables only), and a dash mounted ignition switch (which I also haven't purchased yet). So, I won't have a factory wire harness from the control box. I think the motor comes with a start button on it, so I would have to dig in and cable out whatever I need for tach, charging power, etc. My thought was that some Glen-L runabout builder has already lashed up something like this - I see a lot of electric mercuries in the photo section. Does this help? I have looked at the book "12volt Bible", and it almost helps - just enough to tantalize.
