John,
No I have not encountered any other Double Eagles contructed from aluminium and if Glen-L does not have the plans, I would not know who else to ask. We have been very pleased with our boats' performance and I have been in some severe situations. As long as you slow it down and let the deep-vee bow dig in, you will be fine. If you try to pound through it, the flat bottom will beat the boat to death. In over 2800 hours we have yet to crack any part of the hull or framwork due to this philosophy. We have since built another boat, "The Tempest", but the "Double Eagle" is my favorite when it is time to choose at the dock. The picture on page 145 in the Glen-L catalog is our boat, the Talley-Ho IV. Let me know how the aluminium version works out.
Regards,
John E. Talley
