Weight, construction time and cost occur to me as possible concerns. What are you trying to achieve by the 2 layer approach vs. mahogany plywood alone? The Squirt's a great looking boat, BTW.

: ALso..on the top of the squirt: what are the "white lines" between the mahogany boards filled with?..is it just an epoxy and a filler like silica?...
