I'm designing a boat. I've made 7 different models. I think I'm gettnig close to the design I want. I talked to a boat builder last weekend that said I should do a sluce test to see how the boat will handle while moving. I have done static tests on many of the other designs. I used a glass of water as an estimate of my body weight. I would like to make a more accurate weight for the sluce test.
I weigh @210#. 1/8th of that is over 25#. The glass of water weighs a little over a pound. There is no way my 1/8th scale model will support 25#. I must be making my calculation on a false assumption (weight can be scaled simply). I suppose I have to scale the volume and calculate teh weight based on my density. But, I don't know how to do that.
