I am so confused about buying oar-locks. There are so many different kinds and the prices I'm seeing seem to vary widely. I often wonder if the price is each or by the pair. I'm pretty sure I want side mount. What I don't know is if all side mount sockets have the L shape I'm looking for. I've even seen some nylon sets (that seem to come in a complete package).
Any opinion would be greatly appreciated. Please be specific. Price and weight seem like thay are important to me. I wouldn't mind if they were quiet as well as this will be for a duck hunting boat. I seem to find bronze appealing - although I don't know why.
