Coating with epoxy will let the natural wood show through. Also, the time your hull will be the most attractive to the "furniture maker" instinct in you, will be when the epoxy dries on the fiberglass sheath over it. I would suggest using a 6 oz. fiberglass fabric as opposed to a heavier fabric to keep from having the weave show through.
