With respect, Pictures don't do justice to brightly finished boats. They must be seen in person to really appreciate the work involved to produce the finish. I have seen a canoe that had been covered in fiberglass after the wood was finished. While not obvious from ten feet away, it pops out at you when veiwing the boats details(the screw hole plugs, etc...). The thought of putting hundreds of hours into finishing the wood, then putting plastic over it just kills me.
